Extra edition No.6 Overseas Travel Agent

The reason why we chose the overseas travel agent for this Okavango Delta vacation is because they give us the rates for Safari Camps which is considerably lower than the domestic agent’s.

But, as a result, I think that it was a wise and successful choice for the rest.
Although only exchange e-mail with the person in charge, their services have been not only systematic but also personalized to us.
If there’s a fault with them, it seems that they cannot speak and write Japanese.

Under Japanese Standard Form Travel Agent Contract (which is approved by Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport), in case the contract is cancelled more than 41 days prior to the starting day of the Tour, the paid-up full tour cost is refunded to the Traveler. But, the Wilderness Safari-affiliated safari camps at least in Okavango Delta require payment of a non-refundable deposit of 20% of the room rate in order to confirm the reservation, and their agents also require a non-refundable deposit (for example, 30%) of the safari fare.

Additionally, their standard rules of incurring cancellation charges are different from the Japanese agents’ below.
Consequently, it turns out that Japanese agent must have the risk of loss at least within a deposit on behalf of their customer in case of cancellation.

As a result, they basically don’t arrange a tour with Wilderness-affiliated camps and even if make arrangements for the camps at their customer’s request, in order to reduce the risk, they don’t make a booking until very last minute and furthermore their fare goes up.

Therefore, if you want to select Wilderness-affiliated camps, you should ask Wilderness-affiliated overseas travel agent.
